Molly quickly finds out there is more to learn and enjoy than just searching for her favorite bone. This is at the top of my list of childrens books about teaching kindness.

Manatees are large animals. They are beautiful and unique. Monty the Manatee is definitely unique and has a big heart. He sets out for his first day at Sea School but is understandably nervous. After he arrives at school, the other sea creatures aren’t very welcoming and even call him names. When a predator presents danger, Monty jumps in to help save his friends, even though they weren’t very nice to him. Monty shows kindness to the sea creatures!
This is a great children’s book for several reasons. First, Monty shows kindness to the other kids even though they didn’t show kindness to him. Also, there are lessons of bullying and treating others with respect. I highly recommend this great childrens book about teaching kindness!

Be Kind! A short but mighty message. As a classroom teacher, I talk with my students many times during the school year about showing kindness to others. Often the conversation is prompted by students not showing kindness to each other. However, these incidents bring up important topics like kindness, forgiveness, and teachable moments for students. Be Kind! is a great book to have on hand and is a great one to add to your collection of childrens books about teaching kindness.
